🪦 Have you become the keeper of the Tech Graveyard?
You know the one I mean.
The dozens of apps, platforms, logins, subscriptions, and digital “helpers” that were supposed to streamline your writing life… but somehow made it more chaotic.
This post is your permission slip—and your action plan—to lovingly bury the tools that aren’t serving you anymore.
🧠 The Problem: Author Tech Burnout Is Real
It’s not you.
It’s the pressure to be on every platform, try every trend, and automate everything… even when your soul just wants to write.
Neurodivergent? Trauma-sensitive? Chronically ill? That adds extra layers of overwhelm most productivity gurus don’t even acknowledge.
🔍 The Solution: Tech Triage
Here’s how to do a gentle, no-shame author tech audit:
-
Make the List
Jot down every tool, app, or platform you’re using (or signed up for) in your writing/business life.
Bonus: include what each one promised you when you joined. -
The Mojo Mama Litmus Test
For each tool, ask:-
Does this reduce friction or increase it?
-
Does it serve my energy—or drain it?
-
Am I actually using it—or just feeling guilty that I’m not?
-
-
Retire or Recommit
If it’s a “meh” or “ugh,” say goodbye. Cancel, uninstall, or archive it.
If it’s a YES tool? Commit to using it more intentionally—maybe with a simplified workflow or tutorial refresher.
🌿 Your New Mantra
You don’t need more tools. You need the right ones for your brain, your body, and your creative rhythm. Less is sacred.
